A Charming Solution to Age in Place
These homeowners had a dream to create the ultimate family gathering place for their adult 4 children and growing gaggle of grandchildren.
The priorities were:
to create a thoughtful addition that looked authentic to the original home
Make a 1st floor Master Suite where they could comfortably age in place without it looking out of place
Add a 2 car garage, with one bay being used for a workshop
Create a backyard oasis where the entire family could gather and enjoy
In response to these goals, Studio 360 designed a 2 story addition in keeping with the topography and existing driveway and scale of the home. By adding a lift inside the existing garage, the homeowners could easily access the upper main level.
By maximizing the views and access to a new courtyard created by the addition, this family has a welcoming and luxurious outdoor entertaining space, including a pool and covered outdoor kitchen both designed in conjunction with Marty Hays of InSIte Design LLC.
The addition was constructed by BOWA and the outdoor sandbox, play fort, and other kid friendly features were built with love by the homeowner in his new shop.
